Through My Eyes
The Swiss Guard have been serving the Pope and his Cardinals by guarding them and the Vatican since the 16th century. Want to be a Swiss guard?  You must be between the ages of 19 and 30, male, Catholic, single and have Swiss citizenship. You also must complete high school and basic training with the Swiss military and you have to be able to produce a certificate of good conduct. It’s mostly a ceremonial job now, but Swiss guards have given their lives to protect the Pope in the past.
